Use of generative AI still not allowed by Dutch national funders

NWO and ZonMw confirm previous bans on using artificial intelligence tools in reviewing grant applications

The Dutch Research Council (NWO) and health funder ZonMw have both confirmed that use of generative artificial intelligence models within their grant proposal assessment processes remains banned.

Both funders announced bans earlier this year, while also publishing their views on the use of generative AI and the reasons why it should not be used to assess applications.
