At-risk academics ‘need more help’

Report author says rise in number of scholars in need of support will likely continue

A rise in the number of academics at risk from war or persecution who are in need of help is “likely…to continue”, one of the authors of a report on the situation has warned.

A report published by Inspireeurope+ on 29 April said that “numerous international crises have recently resulted in an increasing number of applications for assistance from at-risk scholars.” The report covers the two years prior to summer 2023.
