Final report on Australian Universities Accord urges root-and-branch research review, but levy proposal sparks criticism
Australia needs a “root-and-branch” review of the national research system, bringing in clear targets for spending, according to the final report of the Australian Universities Accord review panel.
A new national research assessment system should be developed by the Australian Research Council, jointly with other key agencies, to replace the scrapped Excellence in Research for Australia and Engagement and Impact exercises, the report says.
