Newly appointed National Science Centre director aims to boost ailing agency’s finances by a fifth
Poland’s national research funding agency will have to close some of its grant schemes unless it receives a major budget boost, according to its new director.
Krzysztof Jóźwiak was appointed director of Poland’s National Science Centre (NCN, whose Krakow office is pictured) on 31 October—eight months after he was chosen for the role, during which time the agency’s future was cast into doubt by the outgoing government.
