Survey suggests next steps for Coalition S publishing plan

Funder group mulls recommendation for phased implementation of plan for more “responsible” scholarly publishing system

The funder group Coalition S should focus on encouraging posting of preprints and the use of open licensing in the near term as part of its plan to make scholarly publishing fairer, a survey has suggested.

For the past five years or so, Coalition S has required the researchers it supports to make their results openly available immediately, in the belief that the results of publicly funded research should be open to the public without delay.
