Funding plans not enough, say Finnish researchers

Academics are concerned over government proposals for funding research and increasing student numbers

Finland’s researchers have welcomed government proposals to increase funding for education and science, but are sceptical about how the plans are to be put into operation.

The Finnish Union of University Researchers and Teachers, Tieteentekijät, said in a statement that it has concerns about how research funding is allocated.
