The results of the 2024 National Student Survey are out. Is the data still worth reading?
It is perhaps fitting that the first item of universities business to cross the desk of the new higher education minister (actual ministerial title to be confirmed) is this year’s National Student Survey outcomes. The NSS is a long-lasting legacy of the last time Labour were in charge of universities.
Introduced in 2005, when Bill Rammell was universities minister, the first edition was part of the Teaching Quality Information website, along with A-level requirements and employment rates for each course. It was designed to give prospective students more information before making their university choices.
