Publishers reveal AI tools and guidance for research integrity

Tools developed to help address “malicious threat from paper mills” to publishers

Two publishers have revealed new artificial intelligence tools and updated their guidance for research integrity.

Today, Berlin-headquartered publisher Springer Nature unveiled two AI tools to support the identification of papers containing AI-generated fake content. This and the identification of problematic images are two indicators of research integrity issues, said Springer.
