The government has asked former university vice-chancellor David Grant to conduct a review of UK Research and Innovation, amid concerns over the cost-effectiveness of the national research funder, Research Professional News can reveal.
Details of the review, which was ordered by the funder’s parent department, the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (Beis), have not yet been made public.
